FineTUNE 3TM (previously known as OptiMAX) is a happy hormone releasing amino acid designed to make your horse grow in confidence. We use it when we think we have the magnesium and calcium sorted but in horses that seem to have a memory of previous stress in particular circumstances. FineTUNE 3 is best used 1 hour before and during times of stress i.e. at competitions.

FineTUNE 3 can be mixed into a paste and syringed or simply added to dampened feed.

The Tryptophan in FineTUNE 3 does not sedate but it is easily depleted in stressed horses. FineTUNE 3 will only work in horses that are stressed because only they will be deficient in tryptophan. Unlike magnesium (that forces sedation on the horse) FineTUNE 3 enables normal brain function. It works by allowing the production of the neurotransmitter Serotonin. Serotonin is only used by the part of the brain involved in a sense of wellbeing and relaxation.

Every horse is different and therefore, levels of FineTUNE 3 needed may vary.  Start by feeding 5-10 heaped teaspoons of FineTUNE 3. Double the amount fed if there is no effect or lower the amount fed if the effect is too strong until a balance is found. Some horses require a larger dose for a while. Feel free to contact us for more advice.

Please use the teaspoon enclosed. One level teaspoon is approx. 3g.

Ideally FineTUNE 3 should be used for short term support of our 24/7 calmers based on chelated calcium (Cool, Calm & Collected and WINNINGEDGE)

    Excellent product!

One of our horses is wary of new environments and particularly indoor schools. I tried a low dose of Optimax for 3 days before a flatwork session at an unfamiliar arena. However, the weather took a turn for the worst and we had to go indoors to school. Hail battered on the roof, thunder and lightening, doors rattling. Normally he would have been unridable. Although he was naturally concerned, there was no panic. I could stay mounted, pause and calm him and we could continue. Optimax helped him over a huge hurdle and the next visit to the same arena was a pleasure, for him and me. He was confident and worked beautifully. I would definitely use Optimax again for a stressy horse in "first time" or challenging situations.
